Jayco downgraded Jay Flight models for 2015
Looks like Jayco is messing again with the Jay Flight series. They did away with the Jay Flight Swift model line and incorporated it into the standard line. Trailers without a superslide lose in in floor duct heating permanently and GVWR is lowered on some models. To gain back standard features of earlier years, you must get the elite package which makes it more expensive.
On my model, I would loose in floor duct heating which I really like, and 500 lbs of payload (down from 7500 lbs GVWR to 7000 lbs GVWR). The in floor duct heating is only standard now on the upper superslide models. Those still only have foil hose ducting for the bathroom unless you purchase the elite package. The problem with soft hose ducting is that it takes up a lot of storage space that the maker has to set aside for it, as not to damage it. Plus it's easier to rip especially if it's run underneath the camper as it will shake and vibrate.
With the Elite package you gain some good stuff but there doesn't seem to be any middle ground now. You either get lower end or higher end.
Jayco did this previous when they had the previous dual model line. For example they had a 26BH and a 27BH which were the same floorplan. The 27BH was the upper end. Then they did away with the standard line 27BH and put it into the G2 Jay Flight line as a 27BH. Then in 2012 they combined the G2 and stardand line to come with a slightly more featured standard line 26BH, and also came out with the lower end Swift line called the 264BH. The Swift line dropped a lot of features that the Jay Flight line had always had.
You really have to do your homework as features and options are all over the board anymore.
