- 87bobExplorerQuality like cream rises to the top. I have owned a Jayco and now a Zinger. The Jayco was a 96 the Zinger is a 2014. Are either perfect No, but what mass produced items are? Both are stick built. I started to buy a fiberglass unit till I saw how they can delaminate. These units can be fixed. With the pounding RV units take on the road it is surprising any last. Just my 02 worth.
- rbpruExplorer IIBig does not mean bad, most of our large industries, appliance, auto etc. are down to three or four manufacturers plus foreign makers.

Thor was started by an ex New Zealander who did not like, the " socialist policies" of the NZ Govt. Greatest irony they become the most free market economy globally ever under a left leaning Govt.Since his childhood in Wellington, New Zealand, Thompson has wanted two things: to live in New York and to be an entrepreneur. The New York fascination started when Thompson was 9 and his parents bought two encyclopedias. He ran across pictures of Manhattan skyscrapers and was rapt. He went to business school at New York University and settled in New York for good in 1967.

Not good for the RV industry. I've owned both, and Jayco had higher quality. I won't buy another Thor product.
This does not affect the Australian Jayco, a separate Company. Still bad news for US Jayco buyers - rbpruExplorer IIGiven the stated selling price I believe the the family can find a better investment than the current RV industry.
I doubt there will be little change in the production lines in the short term, there really is not variation between all the models and manufacturers we saw at the last RV show.
We wish them well. - hohenwald48ExplorerNot sure why folks would get their panties in a wad over Thor purchasing Jayco. I've had several RVs in the Thor family and they've all been just fine. Besides, when this kind of purchase happens almost nothing changes on the assembly line. Supply chain, distribution and management sure but most of the time the factories just roll on like before. Much ado about nothing in my opinion.

- BB_TXNomadIs Airstream low quality? Owned by Thor.
Is KZ low quality? Owned by Thor.
Is Heartland low quality? Owned by Thor.
Is Dutchmen low quality? Owned by Thor.
Is Damon low quality? Owned by Thor.
And heaven help. Is DRV low quality? You guessed it. Part of Thor family.
And a few others in the family.
Kinda narrows down your choices doesn't it. - aclayExploreryeah, fixed "to". but still sad!
