My wife and I took delivery of our first TT on Tuesday, a '14 Jayco White Hawk 28dsbh. During the PDI nothing was ever mentioned about a water pump. I suppose I wasn't as prepared as I should have been and didn't ask questions about one. I assumed that once you hooked up to city/CG water the system was pressurized by the water input. However, now that I have had time to think about a few things, that obviously can't be the case when dry camping with water in your fresh water tank. So, my questions are, do I have a water pump (I must)? Where is it located? When and how do I turn it on and off? I would look this up, but the unit is at the storage facility right now.Thanks,Mike

You should have a water pump and there should be a switch in the unit somewhere.When you hookup to city water some units have a valve you switch over (ours does) but there is a switch to turn the pump on and off

Yes you will have a pump but not sure were it will be in your unit.The switch should be in the panel were your fluid level, battery level,and outdoor lights switch is. Atleast thats were mine is . Hope that helps.Ernie

Its probably under your sink. If you have drawers on your sink base cabinet then it might be behind the bottom drawer.

Put water in your fresh water tank, turn on and listen. Follow the sound. Until you modify the pump it will be loud enough to hear. Should you eventually wish to quiet it, a flexible hose and foam base will help. I insulated all my lines in pipe foam as well. Makes a difference for sound.Mine was behind a thin piece of panel held in place by a screw just inside the back door. Probably very close to and above your fresh water tank.And If you turn it on and the lines are pressurized you may have to open a tap to get it to start as it will turn on and off with the pressure in your lines.

I guarantee you that you have a water pump. Just hook up your batteries and the turn on the water pump switch on your monitor panel. It'll start pumping and making noise. If there's no water in your tank though it will never shut off on it's own, you'll have to flip the switch.Once you put water in the tank it will cycle on and off as needed.On mine it's under the bottom kitchen drawer, but yours could be anywhere.

I learned several PDIs ago to tell the dealer I expect water in the fresh water tank when I do the PDI. Then during the PDI I turn the pump on and leave it on. If it starts burping I tell them they have a problem somewhere. I also run water at all the faucets and inspect all of the drains for leaks. Allows me to check the water heater for function and leaks as well.

X2 on both the pump location and switch location.

Edit: Guess that's the difference between a good dealer and a great dealer. OP said he wasn't told anything about the water pump, our dealer (Orlando RV), not only explained the pump and water system, the tech removed the panel under the kitchen sink, and showed us the pump location (along with the water heater bypass kit while he was under there). :)

Mine in my Jayco is under the refrigerator. I have a door and the access to turn the bypass valves and pump in antifreeze to winterize. Did they mention winterizing when you walked through. Your pump is likely where they said to put antifreeze in. My switch is with water heater switches and pump level gauges.

the city water should bypass the tank & pump. The pump should not be needed while on city water.

The pump location on our White Hawk is located in the kitchen under the sink area. DH had to remove a panel to locate it. The on and off switch is located on the levels panel, which on ours is located on side of cabinet just inside the main entrance door.

I think the main question was HOW to turn it on. There will be a switch, probably near the sink area to turn the pump on and off. Once it is on, you will be able to find it by sound as mentioned above. Don't fret, it is there.
