Jayco's new trailer line up

THAT is a beautiful camper and I love the how they put the bed in the slideout and added the wardrobe on the 2014. But did I read right...on the 2014 the specs say it's 39' (vs 33' in the 2013), 8,500 lb plus dry weight (vs just under 8,000 for the 2013...at least the one we saw) and a dry tongue weight of 1,140 lb (vs 920 for 2013)?

We looked real hard at a 2013 (I think it was a 2013) last year at the Indianapolis RV show. We were really impressed with it...in fact we went back three times before we left the show. Well built, really nice fit and finish. The one we looked at had electric stabalizers, two recliners, free standing table, and the popup entertainment center. The only drawback we found was there wasn't much outside storage (just the pass through), but there's a TON of inside storage and from slideout to slideout it's almost as wide as out living room at home.

Really, really nice unit. Congratulations!

We brought the new trailer home last Wednesday, transferred almost all of our stuff from the old unit into it and last night our son, two of his buddies, our niece and her girlfiend slept in it. All the kids gave it a big thumbs up, so I guess we can keep it now! Here's a few pictures.





Queen bed in forward slide, good access room around bed.


Wardrobe in the nose is huge with a center divider and a very large full width shelf above. the louvered doors to the right are the washer/dryer prepped cabinet.


The view from my side of the bed, yes I got scolded for having my shoes on the bed.


The large bathroom has a porcelian toilet, 60" shower with moulded in seat, sliding glass shower doors, double medicine cabinets and a large vanity.


The door side slide has the dinette and a Denver Tri-Fold sleeper sofa.


The other rear slide has a second sleeper sofa, pantry, fridge, range and micowave. The fixed portion of the kitchen is just forward of the slides.


The living room area is very roomy and the electric fireplace kept the rig warm enough to watch football in T shirts while it was 32 degrees outside.


So far everyone is very happy with it, can't wait till Spring to get out and put it to full use!

Our Jayco 2012 has a sofa on one side and 2 swivel rocker/recliners on the other. The TV does have a swivel arm but also, with such a spacious floor plan, we can pull the recliners out to better face the TV. I guess if the choice would be FP or large back window....guess I'd keep the FP.

Please do keep us informed about this beautiful TT. We saw the 2012 (or 2013...don't remember which) in Indianapolis last fall. We were looking for a 5er and stopped when we say this unit. This will be our next TT, we've already started saving pennies.

When you step inside if you didn't know better you'd think you were in fifth wheel. The bowed ceiling and the double slides in the living room give a real open feeling. I personally like the big window and hideaway entertainment center, which to me also adds to that feeling of roominess.

Something different in the 2014 from the one we saw is they turned the bed 90 degrees putting the headboard in the slideout, which made for a bigger closet and the washer/dryer hookup.

I'll be sure to keep you all informed when we get our hands on the unit and get it setup to our liking, everyone is very excited looking forward to it!

Keep us informed of your impressions of that unit. I wish Jayco would have told me earlier they were going to bring that floor-plan back.

The TV is mounted to a swivel arm that allows it to turn out to face more towards one sofa or the other. We travel with a herd of teenagers so a lot of the time all seats will be filled, the new TV has pretty good off-angle viewing unlike the older flat sets. So even from the sofas and the TV flat to the rear wall it is still watchable, their young necks will recover. ;)

You can find floorplans with the TV facing the sofa.

The TV raises and lowers so I imagine it cannot be repositioned.
MY TV now can pull out and swivel to face sofa.....

Yes, installing s swivel bracket would solve the 90° view. Most trailers I've seen (including Open Range) that have the TV facing the sofa means there's foot traffic between the viewer and the TV. Your swivel mounting solves the problem but then people have to contend with the TV projecting into foot traffic when entering the RV. And mounting a swivel mount on a TV that goes up & down could cause serious damage if the TV wasn't held in place during the movement. There's really no cure all, I don't think.

BTW, your 5 slide 5th wheeler looks great for a family. Nice layout. O.R. makes some nice RV's. We came very close to buying a Journeyer 337RLS but didn't primarily due to where the TV was mounted(dining table interfered).

BillB800si I agree many floor plans have the TV 90º including mine. Nevertheless I think those floorplans are poor. I was able to correct my floor plan by installing a swivel bracket for my TV.
Somehow us RV'ers are duped into believing 90º is OK vs. facing the TV directly. Again you would never set up a room at home without putting sofa directly in front of TV

You can find floorplans with the TV facing the sofa.
In the end it depends on how much TV you watch. For some TV watching is a priority however I understand many RV'ers could care less about the TV.
The Jayco has two sofas facing each other but not the TV? This give everyone a chance to have a kink in their neck when watching TV. LOL
