So I'm new to the rv world. I have a 2008 jayfeather 30 ft trailerWhen you open the flapper and look down with a flashlight you see a pile of poo about a foot down below the toilet. It's like it lands on a baffle and sits there.... I want it to drop right into my tanK where it belongs. I can't figure out how these rv toilets work. All the plumbing is between the floor and the underskirting.I know it's simple but I feel silly.I drain the tanks them fill them with a couple of gallons of water them I drop in some treatment.First couple of times I reached my hand down the toilet and pulled up the poo... that was no fun.I had the toliet running good... but it would clog again with more poo

You are probably looking at it on the bottom of the tank. Water and the agitation of travel work well. Not traveling and a small amount of water are bad. If parked a lot dump 5 gallons of water in. When you are ready to dump put in even more water.

Are you leaving the black valve open while you're hooked to the sewer line at the site? If so that's some of the issue. Sounds like you have the dreaded pyramid of poo !

Thankyou, I really enjoyed my breakfast after reaidnding this, LOL. I regularly turn of the water and use a brush to clean the accumulated doo doo off the down pipe. Of course putting in in a pail of chlorine after.

As someone mentioned - too little water and too much fiber..........

Get a pail of water and flush the pyramid. I usually put 4-5 gallons of water in the black tank before setting off - this agitates and accumulated waste.

Upon leaving I throw another 5 gallons into the black tank and any waste gets agitated between leaving the site and the dump station.

I think it is a baffle. My Rockwood has the same thing. I assume it's to keep the contents from splashing back up during transit. I had the same problem you have. I pulled the toilet up and realized that the factory had left the flange pipe too long. There were only a couple of inches clearance between the pipe and baffle. So I measured and cut the pipe to the length that would be just below the rubber seal. This gave me a lot more space between the pipe and baffle plate. No more clog problems. Maybe this could be part of your issue. But I also make sure I use plenty of flush water. Before I made the mod, it didn't keep from clogging up no matter how much water I used.

Waters your friend! I use a 5 gal bucket to add water to the tank each time I empty and I use hot water when I'm doing this at home. I also use a spray nozzle to loosen anything up on occasion.
