I sure would like to know what the problems were and how serious they were.
The 5 series BMW has a huge problem with the cup holders breaking off. They WILL break, not if but when. They are JUNK!
Now if this was the only problem BMW had with this car I think all would agree that this is a minor problem. But since almost all BMW 5 series succumbs to this problem and people would be taking it back to their dealer all the time to fix it, it would make this car look very bad.
Now lets say that 20% of all TDI's blow their CP4 pumps. At 12 to 15 grand per pop, this would be a HUGE problem. But because only 20% would blow, it would show on stats that the TDI would be a way better car.
Same thing with my truck that has an oil cooler hose that weeps and another brand truck engine that is dropping valves. BIG difference between the two problems!!
