The CP4 issue in the states is bigger than ford. Before they were ever used on the PSD VW and BMW were having issues with them failing. VW blamed fuel contaminated with unleaded or misfueling. Ford blames water in the fuel. Bosch flat out said their pumps were not designed for fuel as dry as ours can be. The 1000hrs at 500 scar is their number.
The pump has been since recieved a wear package to improve life span with our 520 scar spec fuel. This didn't provide enough reassurance to prevent GM from going to a Denso HPFP in the Duramax for 2017.
