... snipped ... If I were to do it again, I would go with Timbrens and Bilstein 4600's like I have on my current truck.
There you go. Everybody on this forum has offered different advice! Go figure.
lol ... well asking for everyone's opinion can be a double edge sword but I do appreciate hearing from the "been there - did this - here's how it worked" crowd.
I just crawled under my truck. I have a rear 5 spring pack (bottom) plus a top helper spring which is touching with the TC mounted. My rear anti-sway bar measures 1 3/16" which seems to be pretty good ... not sure if it is OEM. The shocks are black KYB Excel G's which I suspect are not OEM but I really don't know.
I'm a little shy of the Timbrens due to the numbe rof users who say they are harsh once loaded. I'm leaning towards starting with the StableLoads. If that doesn't work out, I'm thinking of adding 1 spring to the rear spring pack like I did with my E350 based Class C.
I know the extra leaf will help level things out and increase capacity but I didn't like the fact it also raised the Class C's rear end by about 2" and I always had to ramp level when camping.
I think zcookiemonsters advice of paying a visit to my local spring shop is pretty good. They did my Class C and I was pretty happy with the work and price. I'll post up to let everyone know what they say.
