The only difference that I am aware of is that the Air Raid filter does not leave a white powdery substance (or any for that matter)behind the filter. I've had an oil analysis done with the Air Raid on my truck too but not with the K&N filter. I'm not a scientist or an engineer but I know that it is not good to have debris behind a clean, maintained filter which is why I switched.
