Keeping Car Battery Charged?

This isn't towing related but I'm sure plenty of you have suggestions. Last week I purchased a 1985 Monte Carlo that appears to be in great condition. The car is stored in my garage and will only be a Sunday driver type of thing. Since I won't be driving it that often I'm looking for a way to keep the battery charged.

It's got a brand new battery and I'm looking for options. Thanks!

Because you drive the car often, a maintainer with a quick connect plug that you hide in the grill or behind the bumper would allow you to connect and disconnect the charger without opening the hood would be convenient.

THIS. But if the new battery is an AGM type and you really do take it out for a substantial trip every couple of weeks, then probably nothing is required.
  • That era of GM vehicle can be very hard on a battery if not driven alot. My folks went through this for years!
A battery Tender is your best bet and will not only keep it charged, it will keep damaging sulfation down since it isn't slowly discharging.
