I just bought a Tekonsha P3 Brake Controller. What do you have yours set at now.
I have it set on Boost 2 from my old trailer. I was thinking with this one I would try Boost 3 to see what it was like but won't get to try it until this Saturday. I definitely prefer the trailer to do more braking.
It won't hurt to test it out on 3 at first and if you find that it grabs too much, you can set it lower.
Well, I tried it out and I didn't like Boost 3 at all. It was much too grippy. Cruising around I preferred Boost 2, but at very low speeds I also found it too grippy. It was difficult to come to a complete stop without jerking. The only way that I could get a smooth stop with Boost 2 was to totally go light on the gas pedal and make very gradual stops.
I ended up changing it down to Boost 1 when I was in a parking lot, switching to Boost 2 once I was on the highway, and then setting it back to Boost 1 when I was in stop and go traffic.
This weekend I also found out that at MAX cold, the outside fridge will freeze cans of pop in about 24 hours :B:
