Just talked to the rv dealer, they installed 20 lb struts! They first installed 40 lb but when going to close down the bed the connections (screws or something) pulled out so they went down to 20 lb and that held. After hearing that I didn't even bother to ask why they didn't add a piece of wood support under the plywood to screw both ends of the struts into. Needless to say I'm a little disappointed in this type of workmanship. I'll have to look at what was done in the spring and how to correct this. Some forums have people that have installed 80 lb struts which seems like alot. In the meantime I have the winter to do some thinking on this.
