Silly "S" style fairing brace. So, we've gone through two fairing braces under the slide (the one between the wheels) because of the soft aluminum. I came up with this idea.....
I mounted a shelf bracket on the fairing but helped support it with a piece of furnace ducting I had laying around and some aluminum angle iron. The only extra screws in the fairing are on the bottom flange of where the original one is. The shelf bracket attaches to the SLIDE and 'floats' about 2" from the bottom of the floor.
On the trailer, I bent a piece of sheet metal to make a 'receiver' which is on an angle to help guide the bracket UP towards the floor when the slide is on it's way in. I then screwed a little plastic wheel for additional support at the end of the bracket so it is not tight, but snug.
The 'receiver' keeps the bracket from moving down and the wheel keeps it from moving up so the fairing itself only moves back/forth maybe 1/2" now instead of 2" it used to... First trip this weekend, will advise on outcome.
