The other issue is the trunnel frame. It is junk. When we get home I think we will toss the frame and just use the mattress. We are talking about replacing it with a J or studio couch that folds out to a bed, and can be stored on another bunk or used as more seating.

I'm assuming you have the same digital thermostat I have that has three options: Fan, Cool, Heat. First select Fan and the make sure its set to Auto(Not low or high). If you have the fan set to low or high it will run anytime the furnace is on. It's easy to fix, just a little difficult to explain. Let me know if you have any questions.
As far as the trundle is concerned, we didn't care for it either and ordered a second couch(same as one in living area) instead of the lower bunk and trundle. Still can sleep the same number of people but allows people to sit back there and watch tv. Trailer came with the couch and two end tables. We are thrilled with the way it came out.
