Keystone Passport 2920BH

Passport is manufactured by Keystone. Keystone is a subsidiary of Thor Industries.

I've own a Dutchmen and a Keystone (both Thor Industries products), and have been very pleased with both.

Passport is a good camper. But, any RV is only as good as the owner taking care of them.

I know this as well. I like the Dutchmen stuff as well. I was really digging on the Aerolite series of their trailers. But in the end, there are hardly any dealers in my area, and the passport is cheaper in price and lighter in weight. Especially if I can find a "gently used" one! Another thing with Aerolites of the last few years, they are all grey in color. I have a white truck, and I think it would look funny and clash with a black, dark grey, and blue trailer behind it.

we seriously considered the 2920BH. We also looked at the Sunset Trail 290QB (Crossroads RV/Thor). Almost identical floorplans. Thankfully our dealer had both of them on the lot, so we were able to take a good look at both.

After many hours of discussion and looking at both, we decided on the Sunset Trail.

What we liked most about the Passport 2920: the number of windows in the rear bunk room letting in alot of light, U-Shaped dinette, 32" bunks, and cabinets above the queen bunk (the Sunset Trail only has a shelf above the bed).

What we liked most about the Sunset Trail: Exterior color (It's Tan). Upgraded convenience package (Electic Tongue Jack & 30# Propane tanks), No cabinets over the couch (leaves room for a bigger window), under dinette storage, faux leather couch (our dog would have shed something awful on the passports cloth couch), and most of all, the table that converts to a 4th bunk in bunk room, which gives the kids a place to play if they need more room. Oh, and I really dug the blue LED light on the front of the trailer.

Both layouts have a very similar outside kitchen.

I'm sure we would have been very happy with either unit, but ultimately the Sunset Trail won out and we have been super happy with it.

Thanks for the ideas. I will bounce over to their website and check them out. That's the thing. There are so many brands of trailer, it is hard to figure out what to look at and what will work for you. I know what I want, just trying to find the best fit for our needs. Thanks agian!

Just purchased a 2013 Passport 2910 in April, and so far it has been trouble free. We love the quad bunks and the fact that one of them flips up and has a "bike door" to the outside, great for chairs, coolers etc. We tow it with a 2011 Sierra 5.3/6spd/3.42 rear. We will not win any drag races, but the truck tows it nicely (Reese dual cam does a great job).

We have a Passport Grand touring 31 footer, rear living. Generally, like it very much..has opposing slideouts so get great space. Did a 3500 mile trip in July and came back with a bent axel and ruined tire. Had read horror stories about Keystone and warranty work, but took it to dealer anyway. Just talked to him, not 5 minutes ago, and Keystone going to replace both axels, and and wants photo of ruined tire to support replacing that as well. Gotta say I'm very happy with there response on this, despite some of the other stories one reads on these forums.

these lite weight, so you must appreciate that materials are also light weight and not as solid or sturdy as you might find in some other tts. Good luck and hope you enjoy it a lot!

Do they have any idea how the axle bent? That can't be easy to do can it? Hopefully it was just defective and they will replace them with a better set of axles. Glad to hear the dealer was responsive and able to help out with it.

We bought a Passport 23RB this spring. Although not the specific one you are looking at I do want to comment on features and quality. I was surprised to find dual #4000 axels on a 4600 pound trailer. That allows for more loading ability. The structure seem solid for a "light weight" class trailer. Sure the steel beams are not heavy duty but they will support the box. I like the fact there is a door on the shower, plenty of storage everywhere and decent appliances. We also like the interior look..DW says it "feels like home" Only disappointment would be smallish 30 gal fresh/grey/black tanks.

update on my axle issue: they are replacing both axles, from 2" to 3" axles..not sure of the capacity of them, but assume they are increased. I am pleasantly surprised, and will feel much more confident going down the road. Also kudos to Camperland in Tulsa for pushing the replacement with Keystone, although it does not appear Keystone balked at it. It was their suggestion to replace both axles.

I think they were undersized. They are not only replacing both axles, but are upgrading on size/weight, so should be good to go. I think they left no margin on weight, but I know I was not overweight. I think it was just defective. Anyway, they are doing right by me and I'm really pleased with Keystone and Camperland, who is doing the work. (Dealer I bought trailer from "doesn't do axles", and suggested I use an extended warranty I bought...arg!!)
