They sell it because they can make a profit.
I owned a Kipor 2800 watt unit for nearly ten years. I ran it perhaps 300 hours in that time frame. When it started to die I sold it and got a different generator and my nightmares began. I finally sold the Boiley generator for $100 at a garage sale. It was totally unreliable.
I finally purchased a Yamaha 3000 iSEB unit.
The Kipor was louder at low speed and louder at full load than the Yamaha is. I did have some minor issues with it but it started well, perhaps even better than the Yamaha I have now.
I chose to upgrade because of the boost feature on the Yamaha and because of space considerations. I do like the switches on the outlets--which means I can plug in the RV, turn on the generator--let it warm up and then just flip the power on.
