Kitchen Faucet Replacement

On our week long camping trip at the beach last week, the kitchen faucet started leaking profusely where it connected to the base whenever water was on. I could stop the flow by pushing down on it which required a hot pad when filling the sink with hot water to do dishes.

Where can I look for a replacement part that is built better and will fit? I have never seen one with a base this skinny. The replacement looks easy except that there are 2 drawers in the way which I can't seem to figure out how to remove. The top drawer has a wooden block to prevent it from being pulled from the cabinet. The bottom seems to extend to the stops of the sliders. I have these sliders on drawers in the house, and you can depress a button to remove them. No such animal on these - looks like they were meant to stay. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

  • Have you tried to tighten the collar at the base of the spout? You can unscrew it, clean it, and replace it. Then see if it still leaks.

Well, I'll give instruction on that.... "One leg at a time!" :B :h :E

    Sorry, I just couldn't resist!

Keep looking, you'll find a "catch" somewhere ... it starts with the zipper! .... (Oh I did it again) ... :B

  • Buying a replacement is easy. Replacing it in an RV requires a 20 year old body with 50 years experience.
  • You can go to Camping World and buy a replacement or any big box store and pick up a residential faucet better quality if you buy other than the cheapest.
