A new offering from Lance is lurking in the weeds. It's a purpose built compact TC with some fine new features (for Lance) that supposedly is adaptable to the highest GVW 1 series Ford truck. It was unveiled at the SEMA show recently in Las Vegas and was the only TC in attendance. You might check it out. My old Lance 165-s may not be my last camper. Incredibly, it has exactly the same wet weight as my 165-s of 1842 pounds, and is the same 85" wide, but is 4" taller. Lots of other changes make this a winner for long-term travel, and off-road worthy camping, IMHO.I have no commercial connection with the Lance company other than I own an old one.jefe

I read the article on TC Adventure and the camper specs on Lance Campers The floor plan did remind a lot of the old Lance 165s with a couple of twists to it, as for a possible future TC for me personally, not on my list. It simply just has too many negatives to make my buy list, but it maybe just a fine TC for others.I have a 2002 Lance 815 which happen to be similar in size and weight to the Lance 650.

OERV in West Virginia has one.The refrig is in the bedroom area and difficult to get to.I can see nasty spills on mattress as a result.Tom

I hope the fridge door opens towards the front of the camper. :-)

I'd say that the fridge in the cab over helps to maximize living space while keeping the camper width narrow as possible... A Waaay better compromise than the upper sidewall honey bucket on a C130!3 tons

Just got back from a 5 week road trip up to Portland and back. We saw approx 6 of these rigs while on the road. 2 were rental units. This is a really nice looking camper and I can see why many are turning to this unit.

The Lance 650 is definitely worth a look. I've currently got an Adventurer 89RB. I don't see that I would give up a whole lot with the 650...a little fluid capacity across all three tanks, a little interior room. With a Convection/Microwave it would have all the amenities of the 89RB, less 1/3 of the weight. This, on my F250, would make it a serious contender for off-road expeditions. The paradox of course is that you lose the capacity of extended off-roading as you lose a full propane tank, have less water capacity, and lose a battery.

On the plus side the wife did say "DO WHATEVER YOU WANT." I THINK that's approval?!?!?

Decisions decisions. :-/

This could easily be my next camper. I would have to get used to the fridge where it is but other than that it looks awesome. If its a full 80" mattress then its definitely a winner. I'm dealing with the shorter mattress in my Northern Lite right now. It works but I wish it was just a little longer.

I could see that doing well. Lots of Tundras, Titans and F-150's out there.

Agreed. It makes the dinette and table huge, big enough that it can still be made in to a bed.
