Lance 830 Specs and Fitment

I am looking at buying a Lance 830 and had a few questions. Will it fit on a 2000 Ford F-250 short bed? Any mods to carry besides the normal hauling TC?

Anyone have the specs sheet for the 830?

Also are there anythings I should really look at on the 830 or problem areas?

Thanks

    Turn off water heater...
  • Wintersun is correct. the 830 weighs right at 3200# ready to go. I have stabil loads on my silverado and it rides quite well. I also have 285/75-16 e Nittos. Am carrying 6600# on the rear axle, so the tires can handle the weight. They do bulge, but are under the 3750 rating for the tires.

  • The 830 will fit a short bed truck, it is what it was designed for and so the COG is over the rear axle. I would add Supersprings to help support the weight of the camper. Also check at a CAT scale the actual weight of your truck at the rear axle and add 3,200 lbs. for the camper fully loaded and then take that number and divide it by 2 and check it against the maximum load rating for your tires.

When you get the camper take it to a CAT scale and check the weight again. It will include the weight for the tie-downs and other gear along with the camper and any additions (2nd battery, AC, generator, etc.).

When traveling you should allow for the 240 lbs. with the 830's 30 gallon fresh water tank being full.
