Lance 835 twin bed question

Looking at a 2004 835 with the twin bed option.

can the be changed easily to a queen bed with little to no modification?

I see there is some sort of drawer piece in the middle of the twin beds, before I drive 6 hours to see the TC I want to find out if this is viable option or not.

thanks
  • I have a 2004 lance 835 with the twin bed option the center console can be removed with 4 screws I go camping on the beach with my friend and I don't like sharing my bed so it's great for me Lou
  • Hello all...I usually lurk..
Just wanted to note that we have a custom mattress builder here in city, and it's very reasonable to build to fit. I was about to order a custom size single to fit in back of my 4runner..about $100. Still looking at camper options though. Just FYI..carry on..

After I lost 30 lbs, my acid reflux went away. Then my wife had to come up with a new reason she doesn't like the TC. She had been using that very same excuse.
  • Here's what Livin Lite did on a custom order, looks interesting.

  • The drawer in my 920 was attached but the screws were easily removed to pull the whole thing out.

  • They quit offering it because nobody wanted it. Personally, I think its great. Lots of campers other than married ones.
  • I have twin beds in my 06 845, the draw comes right out and a queen will fit. But putting any mattress in is a real pain.
  • If it's like a friend's 920 (or maybe it's a 925 - I can't remember), the little drawer (nightstand) in the middle isn't attached - you can move it and shove the two mattresses together. A queen should fit in place of the two twins.

I wish other camper manufacturers would offer the two bed arrangement.
  • What's the problem with twin beds? We have had twins since day one. The space between the beds is greater than the space on either side of a queen. After 50 years we don't have to use the same bed but we have a king at home.
  • I previously had a 2004 Lance 920 with the twin beds. The storage drawer between the beds can be easily taken out but I don't know the measurements of the bed area. I would assume the queen would fit but you need to get the measurements from someone before you head out. If you don't get the answer here you might call Lance. I would think they could whip that out pretty quick.
For what it is worth, the drawer between the beds is about worthless in my opinion so I removed it, I was always bumping into it.
