Lance and 2015 GM 2500HD

Looks like the bed wall height changed a bit. I had to raise my Lance 845 an inch (screwed on one inch PT decking boards at 16" O/C). First time I put it on, it appears to just touch the top of the bed-rail.

So, rather than take a chance on fracturing the siding, I jacked it up, screwed the boards on, and lowered it again. It looks like there is now an inch clearance -- a maybe it's an exact fit. So, now it has a half-inch rubber bed mat and an inch decking. Will be fine that way, but I'd still be afraid to lay that right on the rail ...

So, anyone with a TC and a 2015 HD, take a peek at that sidewall height before you drop that puppy in there. Not sure if this bed is different than the 2014 ...
  • I had to raise mine about an inch to clear the bed rails. I have a 2011 chevy with a 04 lance.
  • If you run a tape measure from the floor of the bed to the top of the bed rail; what's it read?
  • Well, I have about five or six inches cab clearance, and my TC was laying right on the rail before I stacked it on the decking ... I couldn't even squeeze a sheet of paper in there.

So, regardless of what Lance says, in the generalized statements - I believe those dimensions are inaccurate - I'm sitting here looking right at my truck with the camper on it. One thing too, the bed rails have those composite protectors on as well, so that could be 1/2 inch - not sure. But this is just a heads-up to look at it before you damage your TC accidentally.

Now it has a 3/8" bed mat and a 5/4 decking, and it appears right about at one inch clearance. It's raining, so will check tomorrow again, and mention it here if different - unlikely tho'. It just pays to check it ... :) :)
