Lawsuit against Chrysler on 2007 Dodge 6.7l Diesel

Is anyone familiar with the lawsuit against Chrysler on their 6.7l diesel?
Is this lawsuit open to anyone owning one of these trucks that is having repeated problems?
We bought our truck in 2010 from a Dodge dealer in Ca but currently live in Or.
Thanks

Yes having repeated issues with CEL.

My '08 work truck had the the constant CEL issue. It had codes for MAP out of range. I knew the turbo was overboosting but the warranty would not cover cleaning. Bought the entire cleaning-port upgrade kit because the dealer wanted $1500 to clean it. Shortly after that, the transmission took a dump because of the overboosting. They ended up replacing the turbo at that point along with the Aisin transmission. Shortly after that it started stuttering and nearly stalling around town. No codes. Turned out to be a bad "gas pedal" (the throttle position switch is part of the pedal assembly).

The truck has been a shop queen, but since it has a 150,000 miles extended powertain warranty, it will be kept until then (has 90,000 now) then it will be replaced with a V10.
  • Has the emissions recall been done on your truck? Also have you tried running the exhaust brake all the time? The worst thing for these trucks, is be-bopping around town. Not an excuse just pointing out that when loaded they do not have any problems. Running on the highway to clean out the soot seems to help also, but this also should not need to be done!

Didn't Ford and GM have the same issue before they went to the DEF based emission system and got away from the EGR system. Trucks that mainly run around empty and driven in town will run a re-gen more often causing poor mileage and can cause the turbo to need to be cleaned?

Do you have repeated issues with the Check engine light??
  • Too bad your truck doesn't have a 5.9 :W

There's been a class action going on these 6.7 cummins trucks for some time.
  • Your typical ambulance chaser for sure.....Sorry for the good lawyers out there.

  • Probably not worth persuing. Owners will end up with a coupon for $450 off a new truck.
