LCI ground control leveling system opinions

Have a 2017 Laredo with the system factory installed. A retrofit would require brackets to be welded onto the frame to attach the jacks so its not the driveway kind of upgrade....unless you have a welder at home and are confident in your abilities. I have had no issues with my frame but maybe they use a better quality frame if this system is to be installed on it, I don't know. It is great using it and I really like it.

Torsion axles with disc brakes would qualify as an upgrade consistent with “an investment”. As would a Hensley or Pro Pride hitch.

Depending on the TV, so would Koni FSD shock absorbers. A Super Steer rear Panhard Rod.

Love our factory installed LCI system and LCI has been excellent with cust.service. The system is designed to not put pressure on in ways that would bend frame. I believe LCI will do the install in their shop if wanted. I would do it in a flash if I didn't already have it.

If I owned an RV with a Lippert frame, I'd be under it taking a good look at all the welds with a flashlight. They certainly aren't high tensile steel frames, just ordinary hot rolled mild steel roll formed channels.

Thank you all for honest answers. The cost is major but if it was a proven good upgrade I don't mind spending the money. Our TT is a long term investment. I've become a self TT maintenance person. From the roof down. Anyone that tows a TT needs to understand that you are towing a moving earthquake. Part of my routine inspection is crawling under with a set of wrenches and sockets and inspecting and tightening bolts and screws. Every mile you tow the TT , the frame bends and flexes. I've also tightened and checked all interior cabinet doors, hinges etc. if the whole rig didn't bend and flex you would have major problems after towing. I don't have a problem with boards and legos Think I will stick to them and use the money on interior upgrades

This would be the major issue and it's not a do it yourself project. I spent a number of years as a journeyman mechanic and don't think I would try. If you had a unit with the factory installed you would love it, push a button and your level. Retro fit? Stay with legos.

All the nay Sayers, everyone has issues, Ford, GM, Dodge, LCI, all have recalls it's part of large business

There are numerous threads on the FR Forum about Lippert (LCI) frames bending, missing welds, mal aligned axles and more. Their quality is poor and inspection, non-existent.

I'd be very nervous about concentrating a load with a leveling system on any late built LCI frame.

One of the many things I like about RV Net Forums, is you get honest answers and experiences. I never considered the frame bending.

...and if LCI fabbed the frame, chances are it will bend.

pretty pricey upgrade.
