If you are going to lease, I would make sure all the terms are clear and in writing concerning the modifications for towing. I suspect you are going to have a hard time getting a traditional lease that will make any financial sense with the mods that will have to be done.
Like was said, if you want to new vehicle every few years and don't drive a lot of miles, leasing can work better as long as you understand you will always have a car payment and never own the car.
We drive cars until their useful life is done, so leasing isn't even a consideration. We usually buy low mile one or two year old vehicles to minimize the depreciation hit as well.
DW's current vehicle is an '04 Sienna with 230K on it. We are getting ready to replace it now. We have a friend who is a sales manager at a local dealership that is waiting on a customer who buys (yes, buys not leases) a new car every year to come in for their 2016 vehicle so we can get into their 2015. Our friend has even asked them why they trade every year and their answer is that they worked hard for their money and like having the newest car. Each to their own I guess.
