- Grit_dogNavigator IIThe whole point is of course the lights can be misused, just like anything else, but around here, if in someone's opinion it's misused then the product should be outlawed.
Rather funny actually to hear the knee jerk comments.

For those complaining about them, you must not drive many/any dark roads with little to no traffic, no ambient lighting and abundant wildlife.
Just in the last 2 weeks, on my job, 1 elk has been tagged by a company truck...
There are no elk on Sandwich Rd. next to the canal on Cape Cod. There are buttheads in Jeeps with very brights LED bumper lights tho.
Could be he mistook a Bullwinkle for an Elk....:W
I wish, but nope it tasted like elk! - SidecarFlipExplorer III

You need a set of Daylighters like I have. Amazing how a quick flick of the on toggle changes their minds about bright lights....:D
As their eyeballs get cooked in their eye sockets, they realize they don't have the brightest lights anymore.
About the only time I use the. A great deterrent to obnoxious idiots. - SidecarFlipExplorer III

I guess big LED lights could have saved the front of a Chevy, but the crew would have gone hungry! lol
Maybe, but slowing down and driving within range of their existing lights or on bright might have saved the front as well.
I don’t think getting blinded is an age thing. There are plenty of old people with bright lights and young ones who hate them. - jplante4Explorer II

Seems every 25 year old with a pick up has them here. I really don't care if you have them or not, but if you are driving around on a public road and shine them in my face there will be consequences.
Lol....geezernet at it's finest!
To the OP, the 2 biggest hurdles or concerns for roof mount would be clearance to the camper and if the camper actually overhangs the windshield, the glare off the camper. Otherwise no different than any other truck.

Just in the last 2 weeks, on my job, 1 elk has been tagged by a company truck and another fresh hit by a passing motorist gave us 4 good quarters and grilled back strap for the night shift crew lunch!

EXACTLY where I'm at and why I have the Daylighters. I believe in carrying a bigger stick myself.
Haven't you noticed that all of them are poorly aimed, IOW aimed in your face instead of on the road......
On as much as I'm always armed when driving, I've had that thought more than once about eliminating the threat. - TxGearheadExplorer IISeems every 25 year old with a pick up has them here. - SidecarFlipExplorer IIILegal or not is of no consequence to me. What is of consequence is using them with courtesy. Why I have a pair of artificial suns on my bumper.
