let the rumble begin

I am a new TC lover. The problem is I don't have one. I need one that has 3 different sleeping areas and at least one slide and is a "TRUE" 4 season rig. What is the opinion out there????

I am looking at the Artic Fox or a Lance. Bigfoot has no slide and I do not want any tent material for we live in the NW and it rains a lot.

Please give your opinion. Let the rumble begin.

thank you
  • Welcome.

    Adventurer makes one with a bunk room on a slideout;
    Overcab+bunk+dinette=3.

    Good luck

  • The Host Everest and Mammoth have three slides and three beds. They are also designed for year round use. Okanagan also has two campers in the "Ultimate suite" line that have three beds.
  • Adventurer touts theirs as "4 season". Haven't really tested it to extreme temps yet though. In our unit, you could fit 2 in cabover, 2 small kids on dinette and 1 on the floor with a mattress. Ours has a slide and a large U shaped dinette.

    We have 3 of us in the cabover...the little dog won't sleep in the TC without being close to us. Not ideal, but we live with it. Our large dog sleeps on the floor with an ortho mattress.

    Just remember, these larger units require a dually or larger. They are very heavy.
  • Never mind, I saw on your other thread that you have a dually. That's half the battle! Now, the choice! How fun!
  • We have an Arctic Fox 996 (2 slides) and regularly sleep 4 adults (two of us over 6'1") and 2 kids. Two adults + 1 kid in cabover, 2 adults on dinette, one kid on air mattress on floor. Works for us all for a 24' total length.
  • You might be better off with a double slide unit w/sofa. That gives you the cabover, dinette, and sofa for 3 sleeping areas. Makers are Host, Eagle Cap, Chalet, and Lance.
    If you go with a single slide unit some will give you cabover, dinette, and drop down bunk (usually over the dinette and for only one person under a certain weight).
  • Thanks for your input I purchased a used AF 1150 with a bunk, that gives me 3 sleeping areas and when the weather is nice the kids will sleep in a tent OUTSIDE!!!!! I will learn how to add extra insulation and wrap the appropriate lines and go for it.
  • take a look at the most practical camper line on the market. For short bed the Northstar Arrow and long bed the igloo U. Both have the best upper bunks that can sleep a good sized adult and dinette that turns into a very good size bed.

    ...nvm saw u bought a 1150
