leveling a dually

Hi just read where it is advised to put levelling blocks under both wheels.
when levelling a dually.
Does everyone use this practice ,if so what type of blocks do you use

Thanks
  • Never had an issue with blocking only the outer tires. The stress to the tires while parked seems marginal to hitting potholes on the highway. I have the trip-leveler plastic ramps currently which have worked well.

I don't bother blocking the inner and outers either. I just do the outers unless it's no more trouble to do both. And you know what? The tires don't explode, or turn square, the axles don't bend, and nothing bad happens.
There are guys driving down the freeway with huge campers on singles... I don't recommend that but parking on them is fine.

Ditto. X2. Yah, what he said.

I've had a dually now over 15 years. I used to use the lego bricks, now I use progressive ramps, and only on the outer duals, then once pretty close to level, use the camper jacks for fine tuning and stabilization.
This seems logical to me. I have used Lego blocks, and now use Anderson levelers.

If my tires on my dually had issues with a single rear tire not capable of supporting my TC while camped, I would replace the tires.

  • I use the orange blocks also they work just find but take a lot of room to store.

I have saw Class C's with auto leveling jacks like the class A'S
would it practical to have them installed on dually (f350)?

The last Class C i saw with jacks was a Chevy 3500

    Has anyone done this?

Yah, I was looking at those too....
Believe it was running apx $2200 or so.. if memory serves me correctly, which lately the service has been slacking.. heheh.. but thought they'd be a great idea...
waiting for others that might have done it..
  • I don't want all the weight on only two tires, so I put blocks under all 4 rear tires and I need to level the truck from the back. Generally all I need blocks for is the front since my truck rides tail high.

For some where near that price you can air ride your truck. That allows leveling for at least ordinary situations when needed, and gives you a better ride always.
