Say that I am towing my friend's new travel trailer with my pickup and hit a low hanging tree limb and destroy the trailer's electric awning. Whose insurance pays, minus the deductible, of course. ...

My girlfriend purchased the travel trailer and as a "morally responsible" date, I provided the tow vehicle for a wonderful 2,000 mile vacation. "Should" the driver of every vehicle pay for every accident they are involved in? Yes. But then the insurance companies would go out of business.
