Liability

Say that I am towing my friend's new travel trailer with my pickup and hit a low hanging tree limb and destroy the trailer's electric awning. Whose insurance pays, minus the deductible, of course.

Dang, I wish I hadn't done that!

  • Before towing a friend's FW I asked my insurance agent that question. He said the claim would be against my insurance.
  • YOU are liable.......whether your ins policy covers 'others' property while in your care that would be in your policy.

Call your ins. agent and inquire.

There is also the liability of the low hanging tree limb.

    Street/roadways....13'6" minimum for emergency/firetruck access
So State/county/city COULD be liable also.

That's what INS is for......file claim, let them determine
They can pursue with other entities
  • I guess that would be determined by the fine print in the policies.
