Lights

I have canister lighting. Some will go off now and then. I take off the lens, pull the canister out, and the light goes on. Sometimes I can just take off the lens. Just recently I have two lights that don't turn on right away. They could go on in minutes and one time hours. What can I look for?

    Some never turn on until I pull the lens off. I have 8'-0" ceilings so it's not easy to do that.

    S & B house can lights sometimes have a thermal cutoff. Is it possible thsey are overheating and shut off until they cool down?

    It happens on different ones. Would there be a main one some where that would affect something like that?
