Long day

Have to share this.
Very excited to go get the trailer today. I'm excited...kids are excited...
Load up my battery get the keys and head out to first return a chainsaw I rented to fell a tree in my trailers spot...
Drop the tailget..get the chainsaw and return it.

Head out for my 35 min drive to my storage. Get there and discover that someone stole my battery from my truck. And my wife's UGG's.

35 min drive home to get another battery. 35 min back to storage. 35 min home.

Good news? I have a beer and the trailer in my driveway....
  • I completely understood from the beginning sam, Lots of judgmental people wanting to attack the victim in this world ain't there?

Sorry for the loss, glad for your beer.
  • Where did I mention Target? Lol.

I was just telling a story. Didn't realize how precise I had to be! ;)

Battery and a pair of boots in the back. Boots were in there from the day before. Not for any reason.

Went to tool rental shop and dropped the tailgate to get the chainsaw.
    Closed the tailgate.
Went inside to return the chainsaw.
Came out and no reason to go back to my tailgate as I did not assume someone was going to steal anything.
Got in my truck and drove to trailer storage yard.
Got to trailer storage, dropped the tailgate and realized some had stolen the battery...

    We good now?

Agreed. the original post was somewhat confusing.
  • DS#1 was doing some errands for us one day and bought his dad a 12-pack and set it, along with a bag of dog food, in the bed of his truck. Next stop, he went into the store and when he came out, somehow the beer had disappeared. Good thing they didn't need dog food, too. Lesson learned.

That was misleading to me as well. You purchased a new BATTERY and some shoes and put them in your truck bed. Then you headed for TARGET to return the chainsaw.

I guess you said you dropped the tailgate to get the chainsaw out and maybe left it dropped down when you went back into TARGET to return it ??

So there sits the new battery and shoes unattended in plain view outside of TARGET with the tailgate still down while you went back inside???

Or perhaps someone was watching the whole thing and went to your truck and helped themself when you left.

We carry alot of stuff in our truck bed but have one of those lockable folding hard bed panels cover. All is always out of sight-out of mind... We never leave anything sitting unattended unlocked even in our own backyard here at the house...

Darn shame no matter how the items got stolen... Nothing worse then the common thief.

    What is a UGG?
  • Oops. I just reread it and saw they took the battery from your truck!
  • My camping buddy has had his battery stolen twice now while in storage. Now he takes it home and keeps it in the garage when he parks the TT. He also removes the propane tanks and keeps them in his back yard.

Nice to see you didn't let it get you down.
  • Good job looking at the bright side! Sorry for your troubles, but you'll be out there soon! Happy trails.,
