One of our first trips was a 3 month trip from Vermont to Alaska in our 21' TT back in 2001. We had lots of plans (I'm a retired engineer) and most of them went out the window. As you travel you will stop at state visitor bureaus and find out about things you want to see, and of course, modify your plans.
Winds. Can be a problem if very strong crosswinds, otherwise, not a big deal.
Altitude. Never bothered us.
Miles per day. Get up, have a leisurely breakfast, Usually leave about 9:30-10.
Stop for lunch, look for a CG about 3. Allow a day of rest every few days.
Relax and enjoy the trip.
