I'm 6'3" and had the same problem. I also noted that the plywood platform was a little thinner than I was comfortable with, so I cut some pieces of 1/2" plywood and glued and screwed them down to both extend the platform and strengthen. Then I went to Sam's club and bought a 10" foam mattress in residential queen size. It sleeps really well.
