Good up grade from the '03 Trailblazer 5.3 which was way down on towing power compared to the 2017 1500 chevy 5.3.
The wife sold her '06 1500 crew cab Z71 chevy 5.3....3.73 gears.... 4L60E 4 speed tranny and bought a 2016 1500 chevy LT packaged crew cab 4x4 5.3 6L80E 3.42 gears..... sprayed bedliner.
Sticker was 47065 bucks. I gave 35870 bucks so you should be able to pick up a 2wd WT or LS or LT even cheaper. Most dealers out here don't stock many 2wd trucks.
I'm amazed how much better the new 5.3 truck tows my 10k car hauler with a 7k blue tractor than her 5.3 '06 truck did.
I see the 2017 1500 with the (NHT) heavy tow package has a 7400-7600 gvwr depending engine selection and a 4600 rawr for carrying more load. And even better is the 3.73 axle ratio (NHT) for more towing performance.
With 355/383 hp/torque 5.3 your going to like its low end grunt.....and mid range rpm pulling power compared to the old truck..
