Sounds like you're looking at gassers for the 2500's. The payload will vary by individual truck. My brother in law bought a GM 2500 HD a few weeks ago and his payload is a little over 2,800 lbs.
As others have noted, you'll likely have a hard time finding the Ford F150 Eco with the max tow and max payload package. And if you do, it might not save you any money over a good 3/4 ton gasser.
X2!
Bubba brings up a very valid point for cost of Ecoboost with max payload package you will find that a nicely loaded F250 will be cheaper to buy.
It isn't unusual to pay $60K or more more for a Ecoboost F150 with max payload (maxing out at about 2600 lbs payload).. Good chance you could get into a F250 with more payload for $50K!
For instance, my 2013 4x2 F250 6.2 supercab shortbed in XLT package cost me a bit over $42K and has a available payload of 3415 lbs!
Granted my F250 does not have the "caddy" ride of a F150 and I didn't have the "cooler" paint colors to choose from (can't figure that out :h as to why F250s can't get the same paint choices).. We don't mind the firmer ride and have gotten used to the dismal plain paint colors/schemes..
Folks just don't seem to understand that while you might get better gas mileage with a eco F150 unloaded, the towing mileage is basically the same as a F250 or even F350 towing AND a eco F150 actually will cost more to buy than a F250.. The "savings" in gas mileage is washed right out the door in the up front cost to purchase!
