Looking for a double-wide counter-height fridge

I've actually thought about something similar only way more "redneck engineered". :B

There's an old defunct trailer on my property that has an itty bitty three way in it. I've thought about taking it out and using it as a portable, only strictly to make ice with....had it in mind to remove the insulating barrier between freezer and fridge and just let 'er freeze!

And FYI to the O.P.: on older fridges like mine, the door hinges are reversible...

I'm thinking you can get two identical RV counter type height RV fridges and swap the door on one to open in the other direction. Would be pretty hard to tell it was a single wide fridge.

The trick would be to find a RV fridge that allows you to swap the door hinges to the other side maybe...

Can you provide at least height dimensions and/or any other dimensional measurements?

A double door compressor fridge is an entirely different animal- I'll eat my hat if anyone makes a counter height double door version of a true three-way fridge.

Our double door fridge/freezer is 35"Hx29"W.(counters 36") It is a compressor type but similar sized absorbsion models should have fairly close dimensions.

Thanks for that. *sigh*. Yeah...and they're not particularly energy efficient either. Not quite like a compressor.

Sure! But they're spendy. This one's over five hundred dollars Link. That's a lot of money for less than two cubic feet of cooling space!

I figured as much.

An alternative I was thinking about was rather than paring up two fridges, you could pair up the fridge with a 12v cooler. I prefer having a top-entry format for the colder things, and just using the fridge for the slightly-cold things, since top-entry retains the cold air so much more effectively.

I just wish those 12-volt thermo-electric coolers were three way. I guess that's a reasonable follow-up question...does anyone make a three-way thermo-electric cooler?

Even in a commercial unit, I doubt such a thing is available in true "three way" (120v/12v/propane).

I increase cooling capacity the old fashioned way: Using the tiny fridge's freezer to constantly produce ice for a freestanding cooler!

or a small 3 way frige and a small icemaker.
