Anything smaller than an 11' camper will work without DRW to support the weight. I would look for a camper with a published weigh of less than 3000 lbs. so with gear and water it will still be under 4000 lbs. and not need 4 tires at the rear axles.
For an ultra heavy camper I would be more inclined to go to the F-550 with DRW and skip over the F-450 which seems to have more towing capacity than the F-350 but little else.
The size of the fuel tank is also a consideration in choosing different models. At least with GM the "commercial" trucks have smaller fuel tanks for some reason.
I rented a camper on a 1-ton 4WD SRW crew cab truck up in Calgary Canada and learned a lot in three weeks traveling around the area. A lot more can be gained from first hand experience before investing in a truck and camper and all the extras to mate the two.
