We bought a new travel trailer in Sept 2011 with a slide. Picked it up from dealer took it to our seasonal site only to discover a big gouge/tear to the laminate when slide was extended. It was not there when we got it and was caused by construction debris. We were heartbroken. We had to decide whether to replace or repair. We ended up replacing and it was paid by the manufacturer. They told us there was construction debris under the slide. They did not take out the lower cabinets but cut around them. Then they used trim/molding that matched the camper. The miter cuts were professionally done. It has a nice custom touch. We ended up very happy with the result and have no further problems 2 yrs later. Good luck
I had the same situation. The vinyl was replaced right up to the cabinets. After a few years it started to curl up at the edges. I added wood trim that I screwed down with small brass screws. It looked just fine but it was a lot of cutting and fitting. I think this is still better than tearing out cabinets.
