- whizbangExplorer IIIn the camper, I've used a French Press and a stainless perk pot. Currently, I'm using the peculator.
The French Press makes a better cup of coffee. It's what I use at home. - sue_tExplorerI'm another fan of the Melitta drip.
We're set up well for drycamping. The Melitta drip works best for us. Boil water on stove and drip through single cup cones directly into each of our mugs.
Easy to store.
Lightweight.
Easy to clean up too, just drop the filters and grounds into the garbage.
I usually fresh grind the beans before we leave for a weekend outing, or I'll pack the coffee grinder and we'll fire up the gennie every 4-5 days just to grind coffee. - CAJWExplorerWe've been very happy with this. http://www.target.com/p/coleman-camping-coffeemaker/-/A-710955?ref=tgt_adv_XSG10001&AFID=Google_PLA_df&LNM=%7C710955&CPNG=Sports&kpid=710955&LID=PA&ci_src=17588969&ci_sku=710955&gclid=CJ-239q1krgCFS9dQgoduyIA3w We grind our beans the night before so as not to have to fire the genset up at 0600 when we're up and have "silent" coffee anytime we want it.
- arto_waExplorerWe use Gevalia 4 cup 110 V coffee maker, running it off the inverter for few minutes. These can be found on the eBay at reasonable price.
It works great with generic Melitta no. 4 filter, which are easy to find at a good price (in membership stores etc).
It's a matter of taste, but in my opinion these make better tasting coffee then percolators, which we have also tried. :) - ticki2Explorer

Heat water in the kettle and pour through the No 6 Melita pad and cone with fresh ground coffee made from the inverter into a stainless steel thermos that holds 1.5 litres perfectly.
We used to be able to find 100 packs of generic No 6 size filters, but haven't seen any for years now. Stuck with the Melita 30 packs I suppose. Anyone sees any please let me know. All we find is No 4 size.
Yep , the No.6 seemed to disappear from the shelves but I found all kinds of them on ebay . - notevenExplorer IIIedited

I use a similar perculator. It adresses 2 important items, ,it doesnt require electric, its easy to store. Plus its easy to clean.
X4. I have tried several coffee makers/machines over the years, and have quite a selection. I have tried self contained propane, several different elec, and stovetop percolators. At this point, I prefer the percolator. I am using the Ozark pot from this page at Walmart.
I use a paper filter for the grounds to make it easier to clean. I really like the large base, which makes the pot more stable.
Wayne - profdant139Explorer IIRichie, thanks for the tip on the Aeropress -- I had never heard of it. I looked it up -- it looked good -- and then I went to the reviews on Amazon. I am not sure I have ever seen so many uniformly high reviews:

This really does look like a great tool for non-hookup camping!
