- usmcshepherdExplorer IIThe Keurig Mini is great for our TC. It doesn't take up a lot of counter space and stores easily as well. When boondocking we use a French Press!

This is what we are using on our trip to Alaska, been using it every day for the past 5 weeks and woks great and in a matter of just a few minutes. - profdant139Explorer IIWell, I guess I'm just cheap -- instead of a Melitta, which works fine but requires special filters, I use an ordinary coffee basket scavenged out of an ordinary broken Mr. Coffee machine. I stuck a 3/16 inch stainless bolt in the hole to slow down the rate of flow. (There's a nut on the bottom, so the screw stays put.)
Then I use an ordinary paper filter and pour the boiling water into the basket, which sits on top of a thermos-type carafe. We bring Starbucks ground coffee when we camp -- at home I grind my own every morning.
This method makes the best coffee I've ever had. Easy cleanup -- just dump the paper filter and the grounds into the trash. Nothing to wash.
The funny part is that I started doing this while camping and it has replaced my coffee machine at home! - JimBollmanExplorerWe have a #4 Melitta funnel. The funnel, a ziplock bag of filters for a couple of weeks worth of coffee, an Insulated carafe and a small container of coffee good for 5 or 6 pots all fit in a plastic carry box we picked up somewhere. Works great for us, if it is cool/cold I make it inside the camper first thing in the morning and the heating of kettle of water takes the chill of the camper. If it is hot I make it outside on a camp stove. Also works when we visit my Mother who doesn't drink coffee, we just pack it in the trunk when we visit.
As a bonus we bought an electric coffee maker for home that takes same filter so we always have a supply on hand. - wintersunExplorer IIWe use a stainless steel percolator. Great coffee and nothing to break. We adjust the grind of our coffee mill for it and pre-grind the coffee we take for a trip. The percolator is easier to clean up than a French press (we tried one for one trip and then retired it).
- dave17352ExplorerWe use the tassimo T20. It brews single cups and it is great tasting coffee with a large selection. Love it and very convenient
- AnEv942NomadWe also use stove top perculators-though I dont perk. Just boil 10 cups of water in old 20 cup pot, pour it into sst thermos, set basket with 7 scoops of coffee into pot, pour water thru coffee. Have to tap basket occasionaly. when drained slowy pull out basket set in sink. Let pot stand for a minute-slowly pour coffee into thermos with enough left over for a fresh cup- perfect. Repeat late afternoon.
I make Margarets, hers is small, 8 cups to 3 scoops. She uses a glass thermos bottle caraf-same procedure. She say its good I duuno-I use whats left in her pot to rinse mine.
