- APTExplorerRVs depreciate at a rate similar to automobiles. I recommend sticking to loan terms similar to them, 5-6 years max.
I am happy with my credit union. - CavemanCharlieExplorer IIII suppose I should put in a plug for my bank. Call the State Bank of Jeffers at 507 628 5533 and see what they say. I've been banking there for 39 years. (My mom opened a savings account for me there when I was 10) Actually, we were looking at that the other day. When they first started using back account numbers I was the 687 person at the bank to get a number. We could tell by looking at what my number is. lol
- 2012ColemanExplorer IIDoesn't it really depend on your credit score? Are you going to apply at loacation X in California because some poster said they got a good deal there? Do you have accounts at local banks where they are familiar with you? I'd start there. Good luck.

Does anyone know of the best places to get financing for a TT? - Andy_FExplorer2.99% for up to 15 years at our statewide credit union. Membership is now open nationwide. Send me a PM if you want more information. I couldn't find any bank that could touch that rate and we have a fantastic credit score.

LOL!!! I called BOA and the man told me that I should not buy an RV because they depreciate so quickly!
Too True but they are a lot of fun. Or you could invest that $$ wisely and sit at home and stare at the wall.
I have been reading your threads and I have to say I admire your spunk and enthusiasm. It's nice to see someone get all excited about a new hobby (assuming that is what this is) and go at it full throttle.
As I have told others, you will know your camper when you walk into it so keep looking. You will walk into one and say "Wow, this is it!". But say it out of earshot from the salesmen, they can smell blood.
LOL!! That is too funny! But, yes! I will try to restrain myself! : )
Thank you for the encouragement! What ever I do, I go at it full-steam and full throttle!!
I was talking with an RV salesman today and toward the end, I stated that this was our first RV. He said, "You've got to be kidding!"
I said, "No, why did you say that?"
He said, "You are so knowledgeable! You sound NOTHING like a first-time buyer!"
So, I said, "Well, I started looking at RVs last Saturday. I found the rv.net forum on Saturday night and I've been glued to the forum ever since! Everything I know about RVs, I have learned from the folks on that forum!!"
He was amazed!!
So, because of all you generous people who are willing share your knowledge and experience, I have learned so much that I had the salesman believing that I was a seasoned Rver!"
Thank you so much everyone!!! Maybe we will get to meet some of you one day!! :) - dsotmoonExplorerI don't think there is any "best Place" of course but I would encourage you to research and make many calls, in the end Bank of the West worked best for us, please negotiate also, you can almost always get a better rate than their "best rate". credit score decides your power, if your in the high 700's or low 800's, ask for what you want!

Seriously, I bet you are going to have to check around in your own local area because it varies from place to place. Wherever you go I believe in saving up money first and putting the biggest down payment on it that you can afford. No use in getting upside down in your TT payment. After all it basically for recreation. (Although for me it has become a addiction and I don't think I could live without it)
