I dont think that tires know whether they are pushing , pulling or following . Tires roll in a circular motion around the axis .

But thanks in reaffirming that St tires are unsuitable for ANY VEHICLES drive or steer axle . Since a trailer is a towed VEHICLE , I am glad I dont have ST tires on mine . But also on that website there was NO PLACE stating that LT tires were unsuitable for trailer use .

I prefer the added weight capacity and speed capacity of the LT tires , If I were 2000 lbs overloaded and driving 80 mph , I still have 20% in reserve capacity in weight and speed ( I dont drive overloaded or fast but my LT tires are rated for it)

In practical real world solution I think a Goodyear G26 Cargo tire in a size of 225/70R15 is probably as good as available on a 15 inch wheel .
The ST graded 225/75R15D " Marathon " RV tire has a higher sidewall rating .
Goodyear makes them both .
They charge more for the Cargo G26 than the ST Tire .
The G26 weighs more because it has more cords and rubber .

W have email from Michelin/Bridgestone/Goodyear all recommending a particular line of LT tires for our trailer. So for you and FastEagle to say they don't is simply just more usual mis info on your part.

how about you craft the question for me to use, using whatever information you want me to ask for replacing my ST 225x75R15 LRD tire… 5200 pound axles, 9500 pound trailer with a 10,000pound GVWR 1100 pound tongue weight…

however the question must also contain full disclosure on my intended use for a RV trailer in the US, and that it came originally equipped with ST tires…

or craft the question for me to ask, and to make it easy for you plug any numbers you want into the equation, but again the question must have full disclosure with nothing hidden…

To reiterate the process for Original Equipment tire selection;

With numerous regulations, the DOT directs vehicle manufacturers to select tires & rims which meet the minimum requirements addressed in those regulations. For RV trailers the minimum requirement is to provide tires & rims with sufficient load capacities to support each/all of the trailers GAWRs. They are further directed to set the recommended tire pressures for those tires to insure the load capacity requirement is achieved. Once the vehicle manufacturer is satisfied that their selections meet or exceed the DOT requirements they MUST provide that information on the vehicles certification label, tire placard and in the vehicle’s owner’s manual. NHTSA and the TRA step-in and provide the supporting industry standards making the vehicle manufacturer’s certified selections the minimum standard for that particular unit.

To make that more simple to understand; Trailer owners need to select replacement tires with load capacities equal to or greater than the OE tires. That information is on your trailer’s certification label.

OOPS, now the tire industry steps-in again with their misapplication statements in their warranty packages. Some of those warranty packages will even reference information found in your trailer’s owner’s manual.

Then, guess what? The retailer doesn’t read the warranty package and/or forgot how to apply tire industry standards and replaces your OE ST tires with LT tires with much less load capacity.

It’s hard to work with all that disinformation so why don’t you just read and comply with the information found in your owner’s manual. Do you know that 90% of that tire information in your owner’s manual was directed by the DOT to be there. In fact there is a FMCSA regulation that outlines specific information that must become part of your owner’s manual.

It totally matters what question you ask and how you ask it.

Using the example above, if I ask: "Is the Vanco2 a suitable replacement for an ST tire, the response would be "No!"" - because the Vanco's are C type tires, not ST type tires and without any additional information, it is not assumed that the question-asker has enough expertise to know that he has to be careful about load carrying capacity and inflation pressure.

But if the question-asker says that he has a trailer with X amount of load on the tires and states that the Y sized Vanco's have more than enough load carrying capacity at the rated inflation, then it is obvious the question-asker has looked at everything pertinent and would get a positive response.
