It has started to dawn on me that when manufacturers say a camper is 'made for 1/2 tons' what they mean is that it will physically fit in the truck bed....not that it will be within your payload capac...

True story:
Sales guy to my freind buying a ram 1500 HEMi, " that truck will pull the side out of a house". Yes maybe so but knew nothing about payload, gear ratio and tires.
Fast forward 2 months same guy selling me my ram 3500 dually, " that truck will pull the side out of a house" ..
I don't know but found it funny.
