What makes no sense is to continue to speak of 1/2, 3/4, and one ton trucks, as 150/1500, 250/2500, and 3,500. Look to the specifications not some arbitrary, often market driven badge.
Yeah.....Some folks have it in their mind a half ton truck is a certain GVWR/GAWR package and for whatever reasons cannot accept the fact 1500 trucks come in all sizes of GVWRs/GAWRs.
Fords F150 comes in 17 different GVWRs packages from 6450 up to 8200 lbs.
Fords F150 comes with 4 different RAWR packages from 3500 to 4800 lbs
Now add GM 1500HD trucks and Dodges 1500 Mega cab I mentioned above and we still have a few folks refuse to believe what the specs tells us.
Same with Fords 3500 SRW with a dozen or more different GVWR packages from 10000 lb up to 11500 lbs and three different RAWR packages. These trucks are still a one ton SRW truck.
The Ram 3500 SRW goes on up to 12400 GVWR.....buts its still a one ton SRW truck.
Truck makers don't make a fake size truck.
