Marathons, what to replace with

My trailer tires are st175/80r/13 , load rated C, made by Goodyear/marathons. They appear to be in fine shape but they are old enough that I want to replace them with new tires. It appears Goodyear doesn’t make these and the new endurance are not made in this size.

Any suggestions on another brand? I would like to use my existing rims instead of buying new tires and rims. Also, I don’t have any spare room for a larger tire.

I know Tire topics get old, I’ve dont some searches but my size is less popular so less info on the forums.
  • Maxxis M8008. Travel proven for years. I never run anything but and have never had a problem.. I change them every 5 years.
  • I've been happy with the Carlisle HDs mentioned above. If I had to replace them I would consider the new Goodyears because they are MUSA, though I understand that isn't an option for OP. As it is, I'll likely be too old to pull a trailer when these age out....

    MFL, I’m running Providers, 14 inch, LR D. So far...4000 miles...so good.

My 2012 came with Provider tires when I purchased it new. Yup, I'm still running them, and they have been a great tire!

  • My cousin runs bias ply tires on his 24' travel trailer. Following him up I-75 last week, I got a good example why. His left rear tire disintegrated while running 65mph. No damage done to the trailer. Chunks started flying and the tread rolled off into the median. One a previous trip a few years ago, he lost a radial and it even tore out the shelves under the sink with the steel belts slapping. I've noticed U-Haul has gone back to bias ply trailer tires as well.
