Basically, Ram needs to give their trucks away to sell them. I just saw in the local paper that Ram is offering AGAIN a no charge cummins + other incentives in the HD trucks!
Maybe Fiat/Chrysler can offer the larger discounts because their manufacturing costs are much lower being in Mexico? I myself prefer to contribute to the north american economy as much as possible.
I bought my half-ton Silverado at $12,000.00 off sticker. RAM isn't the only manufacturer to deeply discount trucks. GM was discouting their trucks like crazy in th 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013 model years. RIGHT NOW-RAM is a better truck-discounts or not. BTW-My Silverado-it's made in Mexico. You post really shows a lack of research.
Now-GM is trying to say their trucks are better than anyone elses-and we want you to pay for it. Well-the sales chart says something different-doesn't it?
Sorry for the confusion, I was referring to the HD trucks.. I don't RV with half ton trucks!
7 out of 10 vehicles GM makes are made in China. LINK TO VIDEO
Ford's powerstroke diesel engine is made in Mexico. It's called a global economy, and it is the way things are going. - CKNSLSExplorerMich and bigfoot-you guys are right. MSRP is meaningless and transaction prices are what counts. Free-Cunmmins= $10,000.00. A discount is a discount-it doesn't matter how they get there.

What difference does it make how they market the incentives? Buy one get one half off is still the same as 25% off on both. But one sounds bigger to some consumers. Free Cummins engine or $8k off, which do you choose. I guess the marketing does work if you equate that promotion to actually just giving an engine away.
No charge Cummins + incentives! Up here that engine is worth $9500, with incentives it was close to $15500. - mich800ExplorerWhat difference does it make how they market the incentives? I don't know how many GM ignition switches I have replaced. If I had thought about it at the time I would have suggested to each customer to file an NTSB report. Even had an '05 Impala in last week that was dying while driving. The switch will fix it, but with this stuff going on I told her to contact GM as well as file and NTSB report.
Back on topic....Way to go Chrysler...Ford, you're next! - 45RicochetExplorer

Another bean counter left over from the 2004 ignition key group, is my guess. Not really funny though as lives were lost for 57 cents.
How about those saddle tanks? Heck my brother still has dad's old Chevy truck with the outside mounted tank. T-bone steak anyone? - mich800Explorer

Let's not forget in the 70's Ford decided it would be cheaper to pay claims that fix the Pinto's exploding gas tanks.....
So-GM is far from being the "The Lone Ranger" under such circumstances.....
psstt that was 40 years ago, the world has changed and those who don't learn from the past are doom to repeat it.
You mean like the Ford Expeditions cruise control switch that would catch fire while the vehicle was off?
I think you mean like things that go wrong in mass production. I suppose Ford could have not recalled the vehicles and secretly fixed the item on new vehicles and let the rest fend for themselves.
