I've seen people do it, never knew how but always thought is was kind of cool.
I'm in the camp of not seeing how turning on the running lights, which have very little light output, is somehow a problem for people? Porch lights on RVs, lights on people's awnings, or lanterns and flashlights are much brighter. I agree, shut your lights off when going to bed. But before then, what's the issue? We also enjoy touring the campground and seeing everyone's sites and how they decorate their rigs with different things. Look at it this way, why put yard lights or walkway lights out around your house? Most aren't for any purpose other than to decorate your home. What's the difference between that in a neighborhood and lights around your RV, including running lights? That's my take.
Thanks for the sharing how to do it! Going out this week and will give it a try.
