Herb - in China they lock you up if you have more than one kid. In the US you can have your trailer marker lights on if you want. That's called freedom. If you don't like my freedom, I suggest you move to some place where freedom is restricted. I'm staying here and enjoying my freedom - you can call me any name you like, it is what it is. I won't encumber your freedom and I won't let you encumber mine.
Hey, do as you please. It isn't my cup o' tea, but if everyone camped the same, life could be pretty boring :B I don't mind the lights after quiet time, but all night is probably bothersome. In any case, I doubt most people would do that on purpose- especially if they knew it bothered someone!
Case in point. Many nights we leave the orange porch light on, as it keeps critters away and provides "peek out" visibility throughout the night. (We live in the woods, so sounds close to us stir me enough to make sure things are as they should be). But...when we have a tent next to us or even someone's window in a close CG, we turn it out.
If we were informed it was bothering someone earlier in the night, we'd rather turn it off and use a small battery lantern that we could dim than to cause anyone consternation that could rob them of their sleep and enjoyment of their trip.
Sure, lots of opinions here, but in reality very few A-holes who wouldn't bend over backwards to help a fellow camper any way he could ;)
