marker lights on while camping

Last month we stayed at a CG that has a lot of seasonal campers, and they were having a "Christmas in July" themed weekend. The people in the site right across from us must have had 50 different decorations up, including several that use an air pump to stay inflated. It was like a scene out of the Christmas Vacation movie!

Fortunately we don't have windows on the end of the TT that was facing the neighbor, and our curtains really keep the light out. :E

Well see there Nvr2loud thats the answer!!! You are from Canada!!! WE (Americans) enjoy technology as in LED lights and FUN things!!! I Don't live in the woods I live in the CITY!!! There are lights on ALL the time!! And it makes me feel like HOME when I have a light on!!!

So I will make you a promise!! You stay in Canada and camp and I will Stay in the USA and camp!!! Fixed!!! See we can get along!!!

Oooouch...:( He doesnt speak for all Canadian's...we do like lights and technology too, along with the woods.

I come to the US and run my marker lots on the same way I do in Canada, and I see lots of lights on in Canada too :W

I didn't say I spoke for all Canadians, eh!

I just said I've NEVER seen trailer marker lights on when parked.

From all the other replies I've seen, the common opinion is as follows..... Everyone likes to have lights and music on until late at night but then shuts them off because they don't wish to bother other campers.

Common sense people, if you are considerate, then no need to worry about bothering anyone. But if you are too selfish or lazy to care, then why shouldn't someone like myself knock on your door and ask you to shut down.

I'm still just talking about lights on in the middle of the night for no reason at all. It is light pollution without purpose. If your lights are so low that they don't bother people, that is no different then low music. But if your lights are bright and annoying, and you are asleep in your rig, I see no reason that myself or anyone else should have to tolerate it.

It is a low light and hardly bothersome. Mind you if it was after eleven I wouldn't be doing it.

That is my point... most people are considerate of others. But to leave the bright running lights on all night for no purpose.. is just disturbing to neighbors.

I'm like everyone else, I make noise, I use lights, I have a fire, I have screaming children.... but not late at night.

I think you misunderstand me... a campground isn't a county fair, fancy lights late at night only serve one purpose: to disturb others. When it is so quiet you can hear a twig snap a mile away, that is the time of night that I am disturbed by lights with no purpose.

You would feel the same about a generator at midnight, there is a time and place for noise and light, fires, children, ect.

To me a light is no big deal!! Burn it,, your paying for it!!
I am a thoughtful camper though!! I will turn down my Sinatra and Martin after 10 PM,, But If I have a Flyers game on or my strobe,running lights and my LED step ,lights on,,, well then I figure its all good to leave them going for as long as I please!!! And if some one doesn't agree we can talk!!! After all,, the most I'll get is a five minute sit in the penalty box eh???
