Marker lights

Sounds like a good guess to me but I would check it with a test light using a known ground.
Just out of curiosity, what are you replacing it with? I was thinking of doing a full marker light replacement on my 1150 to sealed LED pieces.

White is traditionally a ground in trailer & marker lights.

I would say that WHITE will always be GROUND in the RV WORLD.

Everywhere you look with ETRAILER and forum comments you find that WHITE is always ground.

On the trailer connector cable that plugs into the truck wiring you will find that WHITE is GROUND (-12VDC) and GREEN is the (+12VDC) going to the trailer lights... The COLORED wires may vary by manufacture but always the WHITE is GROUND.


You can test this with a DC VOLTMETER to be sure.

Most campers have black positive and white negative with a green ground

I've never seen an RV with three wire DC system.

OK guys now we have a problem.... the marker light only has a screw for the ground to be connected and a black wire for the power to the bulb....the camper has two wires coming out of the hole in the side of the camper and it is a green one and a white one......which goes where?

In a house I know there are 3 wires but that is not what I have and the marker light itself does not call for 3...only 2

In a vehicle there is not a ground but a positive and a negative. Negative most times will go to a frame, hard in a camper or a trailer unless it is metal so you will find a positive and a negative. You can check it with a meter, the best idea, or take an old one apart and see. Color will vary on the manufacturer so there is no specific color to look for.

Green is POWER. White goes to the screw.

Ever look under the cover of your camper cord? There's green, yellow, blue, white and a couple others. Don't be confused by house or alternating current colors.
